What is your service schedule?​​

Saturdays--Vespers in English at 5:00 p.m.

Sundays--Matins Canon at 9:30 a.m. & Divine Liturgy in English at 10:00 a.m. & Orthodox Study classes at 1:00 p.m.

What exciting news do we have to share?

We have been blessed to rent out the space adjacent to our chapel.  Our social hall is for trapeza, the Orthodox Study class, parents with children who need to step out of church for a bit, a kids' area, a book-lending library, our gift shop, choir rehearsal, special talks/lectures and an icon-painting class (hopefully!), etc.

When are the special services in February?

Wednesday, February 5 – Akathist for Holy Communion at 10:00 a.m.

Wednesday, February 12 – Akathist to the Three Hierarchs at 10:00 a.m.

Friday, February 14 -- Great Vespers with Lytyia at 6:00 p.m.

Saturday, February 15 – Meeting of the Lord.  Matins Canon at 9:30 a.m.  Divine Liturgy with the Small

                                    Blessing of the Water and Blessing of the Candles at 10:00 a.m. 

Wednesday, February 19 – Akathist for the Repose of the Departed at 10:00 a.m.

Saturday, February 22 – Memorial Saturday with a Panikhida at 4:30 p.m. 

Wednesday, February 26 – Akathist to the Holy New Hieromartyr Maximus Sandovych at 10:00 a.m.

 

​​​​​​​What are the Orthodox Study classes all about? 

The Orthodox Study classes are open to everyone (i.e., inquirers, catechumens, cradles and converts).  Hieromonk Kenneth Alonso is leading the class.  Father Kenneth is the Rector of the Chapel of St. Mary Magdalene.  He is the Founder and Director of the St. Gregory of Nyssa Institute of Theology, which offers courses in Spanish to those interested in ministry or service to the church.  Father Kenneth is also a retired Professor of Medicine and Pathology; he also has a PhD in Theology (Bioethics).

​​​​​​​Who is the clergy?

Father Alexandre Antchoutine, Rector

Father Stefan Zencuch, Parish Priest.  Archpriest Father Z, as well as Matushka Katarina, is one of the founders of St. Catherine Orthodox Church in Clearwater, FL.  He graduated from Pravoslavna Bohoslovecka Fakulta in Presov, Czechoslovakia.  He achieved a Master of Arts in Theology degree from the Wheaton College Graduate School near Chicago.  His post-graduate studies took place at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN.  Father Stefan has written numerous articles and is the author of the book:  "Ethnic Orthodox Congregation and the Parish Council."

Our Purpose:

St. Catherine Orthodox Church is a traditional, conservative and family-oriented church dedicated to teaching and, more importantly, living the faith of the original church founded by Jesus Christ and the Apostles
